What to Expect
Before Inspection
Prior to the inspector arriving, the homeowner should focus on preparing the home for an inspection.
It is important to make sure that all areas of the home are easily accessible, especially the attic and basement/crawl space. It’s also a good idea to trim any trees or shrubs that may make it difficult to inspect the exterior.
I will photograph your home for the report, so clearing the clutter and moving vehicles from the front of the home will help the inspection go more smoothly.
NOTE: Payment is expected prior to the start of the inspection.
During Inspection
As a buyer, it is recommended that you accompany me around the property during the inspection. This way you can become familiar with the home, its systems, as well as understand what repairs the inspector recommends and why.
This is also a good time to find out where the home’s water and gas shutoffs are, as well as where the electrical box is.
After Inspections
Following the inspection, the findings will be compiled into a simple, clear, easy-to-understand report, which will include detailed descriptions and digital photos of any issues that have been discovered.
